For Valentine's Day last week I shot a special concept this year: Bloody Valentine has been slumbering in my head for months. The first idea for the concept came from the music video for the song Cannibal by RedHook. And then the whole thing became a no-brainer.
Inspiration from the 2000s
The Valentine's concept is dark and bloody, vampy – just the way I love it. Inspiration for the photos came mainly from:
- of the series Vampire Diaries
- The film We Are the Night
- John Carpenters's Vampires: Los Muertos
- a special scene from the series Hemlock Grove
- the song Blood by In This Moment
So I bought two liters of fake blood, an anatomical heart made of rubber and a tarp for my floor. The self-portrait shoot was messy, but it was just endless fun. You can find more pictures here:
