It's finally here: The new TE/MO single “let the spiders go” is live. You can stream the song everywhere since July 10th. TE/MO has also released the single cover – a photo from our favorite photoshoot.

Shelley, the new star

For the single, we did a photoshoot with TE/MO's jumping spider, Shelley. It was a challenge for everyone involved. Shelley isn't a tarantula, of course, and therefore not particularly large. So, staging her wasn't exactly easy.

We did the shoot in Teagan's apartment and it took quite a while for Shelley to crawl into the frame where we wanted her.

A completely new experience

I've photographed animals before, but never a spider. That's why the shoot required a lot of patience. We didn't want to stress or overwhelm Shelley, so we gently guided her in the direction we wanted her to go. Of course, we also had to make sure the little spider didn't run away.

We finally managed to get Shelley to pose for Teagan's glasses. And then she really blossomed and even looked into the camera at the end – as you can see on the cover.

“Let the spiders go” – the TE/MO anthem for softness and vulnerability

“Let the Spiders Go” is about TE/MO, who outwardly appears strong, cool, and confident. But there's also a soft and vulnerable side to her, one that lets the spiders go at home instead of squashing them, and that cries during emotional commercials. The song celebrates this gentleness, too. It's about not always having to be strong.
